Delma Thompson Hiott
Delma Thompson "Nannie" Hiott died at home on July 22, 2010. She was born April 4, 1923 in Erin, Alabama, but lived most of her life in Savannah. A daughter of William Edgar and Irene Finch Thompson deceased, she was the widow of Archie Bradford Hiott and was also predeceased by a sister, Ruth Thompson Metzger and a brother, Taze Thompson. She was a homemaker and was a former member of Clyo United Methodist Church and of Calvary Baptist Temple.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Hiott Nichols Pete, son, Mark Bradford Hiott Connie, daughter-in-law, Connie Stevens Hiott, two granddaughters, Heather Hiott-Edwards Chris and Morgan Hiott Shiell Jason, and three great grandsons, Maddox and Porter Shiell and Pierce Edwards. She is also survived by two nephews, Dr. Wayne Metzger Emily of Columbia, SC and Randy Thompson of Vinita, OK and a niece, Mary Hiott Bailey of Bluffton, SC.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial service will be private.
Remembrances: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Savannah, Inc., P. O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416-0190.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to Hospice of Savannah and to Dr. Joseph DeHaven for his excellent care throughout the years.
